How does the iGuard for gas stoves operate?

The iGuard for gas stoves controls the flow of gas by opening or closing the iGuard gas valve.  When you want to start cooking you press the "GAS" button on the front of the iGuard and that opens the gas valve to allow gas to flow.

You then turn on your stobve knob and light the gas as you normally would.  Pressing the "GAS" buttton again would close the valve and extinguish the flame.

Once the iGuard determins that you have left the kitchen for more than 5-minutes, the iGuard automatically closes the gas valve.

To resume cooking you must press the “GAS” button on the iGuard and then re-light your stove element.
Unlike the electric stove model that has the auto-resume feature, the gas stove model does not auto-resume.  Otherwise, the gas would begin to flow again because the stove knob had not been turned off and the iGuard has no way to re-light the element.
