Can I use the iGuard if I do not have Internet?

Yes you can.
We do highly recommend that your iGuard be connected to the homes wi-fi as much like other devices, updates to the operating system are needed as we improve the features of the iGuard.  However, if NOT connected to the wi-fi/internet the iGuard will still offer you the basic Auto Shut-off feature to predict and prevent kitchen fires as well as a Extended Cooking timer to do longer cooking events like a turkey or to simmer a stew.

The person using the stove will not be required to even know that there is wi-fi in the home not will they be required to use the app or a computer.  The app and wi-fi access is for the family members and/or caregivers to use to control/adjust settings and to anonymously gather valuable usage information from the iGuard to infirm the family of any changes in cooking or sleep patterns.

Without the wi-fi/internet connection, you will not be able to receive the different notifications and alerts to your phone that someone has forgot the stove and the iGuard had to shut it off, Good Morning message, nor will you get any of the logging of the stove or motion events.  These are premium features that do require the internet to function.
